Endy Stool

Designers Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger of Israeli design firm Studio Ve have created the Endy Stool. The stool is entirely made from discarded timber end pieces from sawmills. According to the designers, "The timber's ends are the most sensitive areas of the timber. In order to protect and seal it, they are painted in sawmills, thus preventing the appearance of splits in the wood. These colored ends are usually removed and discarded afterwards, so the end user is not aware of them. Endy stool is constructed only by these ends. It emphasizes the edges, thus preserving a hint of the origins of the wood, and celebrating these magnificent colors.
